This page explains how to delete your user account for DATOS (com.dioceseoftagum.datos), the mobile and web application published by the Diocese of Tagum, Tagum City, Davao del Norte, Philippines — and exactly what data is erased and what is kept when you do.
You may delete your DATOS account at any time, for any reason, without contacting anyone first. There are two ways to do it. Both delete the same data.
This is immediate and needs no approval from us.
Your account and the data listed below are erased at once, and you are signed out. If you are told to sign in again first, that is a security check: log out, log back in, and delete the account within ten minutes of signing in.
Use this if you have uninstalled DATOS, lost access to your sign-in provider, or simply prefer that we do it for you. Email us from the address associated with your DATOS account:
Email an account deletion request
If the button does not open your mail app, send a message manually to datosproject2025@gmail.com with the subject DATOS Account Deletion Request, and include:
We verify that the request comes from the account owner before we act on it. Verified requests are completed within 14 days of receipt. We will confirm by email once the deletion is done. Deleting your account from our side removes exactly the same data as Option 1, except the items stored on your own phone, which only the app can clear.
Everything in this table is deleted immediately when you delete the account in the app, or within 14 days of a verified email request.
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your sign-in account (the Google or Apple identity and email address you sign in with) | Permanently deleted from Firebase Authentication |
| Your role and permissions: your DATOS role record, any permission to schedule meetings or build surveys, and your Disaster Responder access | Permanently deleted |
| Your member profile (name, photo, phone number, birthday, gender, diocese, parish, GKK and apostolates) and the profile photos you uploaded | Permanently deleted |
| Your Prayer Hub activity: the prayers you posted, with their photos and every comment on them; your comments and reactions on other people’s prayers; the list of people you follow; the personal notifications sent to you | Permanently deleted; your prayers leave the shared Prayer Hub feed within a few minutes |
| Your parish and GKK groups: your memberships and requests to join; the posts you made, with their photos and every comment on them; your comments and reactions on other people’s posts | Permanently deleted |
| The Fellowship: your Journey and everything you shared on it, with its photos, videos and every comment on it; your comments and reactions on other people’s sharings; your companions, the requests either way and your blocked list | Permanently deleted. You leave your companions’ lists, and what you shared with everyone leaves the Fellowship within a few minutes. |
| Messages: your entry in the list people search, your place in every group and chat room, and the address your phone is notified at | Permanently deleted |
| Your rating and feedback about the app | Permanently deleted |
| Your support tickets and their messages | Permanently deleted |
| Your answers to surveys | Permanently deleted |
| Your requests to be listed as a member of a GKK, apostolate, DCLAIM group, congregation or corporation, and every roster entry that carries your email address | Permanently deleted. A roster line that a keeper typed with your name but no email cannot be matched to you, and stays. |
| Live Chat: your place in a session that is still open, and the messages you sent in it | Permanently deleted |
| Event registrations: the email address that linked a registration to your account | The email is removed; the registration itself is kept (see below) |
When you use Option 1, the app also clears from that device:
Display settings (dark mode and text size), songs you downloaded, and the offline copy of the public parish directory stay on the phone until you uninstall the app. None of them is about you.
After deletion, we keep:
Uninstalling DATOS removes the app from your device but leaves your account and its data on our servers. Use one of the two options above if you want the account itself erased.
